Bellingham editorial photographer | Chemistry students photos WWU
One of my first assignments as a photography intern with the Office of University Communications at Western Washington University was to explore the Chemistry Building. It’s a good thing no one asked me to help — it has been more than a while since high school chemistry class!
But really, my internship is looking to be an interesting experience. Every day is very different, but for now, I am tasked with gathering an archive of images of each building on campus. They are both building portrait assignments, as well as marketing of the school, departments and buildings. And I have to say, being given the license to roam and explore for the better part of each day has been a rewarding challenge.

Bellingham editorial photographer | Whatcom Falls Park photos
It is shaping up to be a nice and productive summer up here in Bellingham. Since I am splitting my time each week between my home in Bellingham and my freelance work in Seattle, I am trying to make the most of each unique place. I have resolved to experience as much of Bellingham as I can this Summer, since it is basically still very new to me. To that end, I hung out at Whatcom Falls Park with friends this afternoon. I soaked up the sun, swam in the still-chilling water and photographed people enjoying the same. Next time out I am definitely jumping off the cliff. I better get a running start.
