Veteran Bill Miller of Mill Creek, WA won a purple heart, bronze star, and a silver star for his work as a Navy medic in WWII and the Korean War. He was one of only a handful in his unit to survive negative-100 degree temperatures during combat. Bill, now in his mid-80s, takes care of his wife who has Alzheimer’s. He says it is extremely important to keep his brain active, so he volunteers at a senior home a few miles away every week. He was formerly on the board of that same senior home.
