Portrait Series

Posted in personal work, portraits by bermanphotos on November 12, 2008

In the month coming up to the election I was working on a portrait series about senior citizens and their political views. I was already at the senior home on a regular basis, interviewing the residents as part of a political science course. Once I got to know some of these people I knew I had to make their portrait.

It was a lot of fun to shoot this project, as the residents were really into the whole thing. Anytime a subject is interested in the shoot, the photos just seem to work.

By the way, as far as the lighting is concerned, I used a small softbox with one Nikon SB800 positioned right above the camera; flash was triggered with the de facto Pocket Wizard Plus II.

Thanks for looking! Comments always appreciated.
